Prisoner Breaks Out Of Jail To Avoid Drugs. |
According to the BBC's website, A prisoner jailed for drug offences breaks out of prison because he couldn't stand the amount of drugs inside. Robert Parkinson, 29, escaped from North Sea Camp jail in Frieston, near Boston after being jailed for breaching a drug treatment and testing order. |
|
Phil Howes, prosecuting, said Parkinson was offered drugs by other inmates but wanted to remain drugs-free and so simply walked out and went to Grantham. Parkinson's absence was not noticed until officers took the 10pm roll-call.
He admitted a charge of escaping from lawful custody and was remanded back into custody after Judge Machin adjourned the case. The judge told Parkinson he wanted inquiries into drug use at the jail to be carried out before he passed sentence. |
